You’re Invited to Faith Connections

Starting in October we will be offering various programs for all ages during the 9:30 a.m. hour to foster meaningful connections with God, the world and one another through learning and fellowship.

Join us in the Fellowship Hall on Rally Day, October 3, from 9:30-10:25 for a continental breakfast (with indoor and outdoor seating) to learn more about Faith Connections and how you can plug in.

Faith Connections

Sundays 9:30-10:25 a.m.

Engaging Christians of all ages in meaningful connections with God, community and the world through learning and fellowship.

9:30-9:40 Intergenerational Opening for all ages in Fellowship Hall with refreshments, announcements and gathering.

9:45-10:25 Split up to join in various Faith Connections offerings based on age and interest.

Preschool Connections

For our siblings in Christ who are potty trained but not yet in Kindergarten, we will gather together in the Fellowship Hall and then travel with leaders downstairs to the Nursery room. They will spend time together learning and exploring Bible stories as told in the Frolic Preschool Bible. Kids can expect play, crafts, stories, prayer and songs.

Elementary Connections

For our siblings in Christ who are in Kindergarten-5th grades, we will gather together in the Fellowship Hall and then travel with leaders downstairs to their Faith Connections room. They will spend time together learning and exploring Bible stories as told in the Spark Story Bible. Kids can expect to make friends, learn stories and memorize verses, try some crafts and activities, and leave with a Family Page to continue making connections at home.

Middle School Connections

For our siblings in Christ who are in 6th-8th grade, we will gather together in the Fellowship Hall and then travel with leaders upstairs to one side of the Youth Suite. We will spend time together preparing to affirm our faith in the milestone of Confirmation. Kids can expect to build relationships with their peers and leaders and explore what it means to be Lutheran and Christian.

High School Connections

For our siblings in Christ who are in 9th-12th grades, we will gather together in the Fellowship Hall and then travel with leaders upstairs to the Youth Suite to spend time together. We will engage in discussions connecting world events with the Bible, faith and everyday life.

Parent Connections

For our siblings in Christ who are parenting children of all ages, you are invited to join a Parenting Cohort in the foyer outside the sanctuary after Opening in the Fellowship Hall. Parents (and parent figures) can expect to share joys and challenges with one another and hold caring conversations about faith practices for personal life, family life, and child development.

Connections in Conversation

The Fellowship Hall will remain open after Opening for continued conversation over coffee and other refreshments for those who are seeking informal connection.

Music Connections

Choirs will meet as scheduled before the service when singing. We will meet downstairs in the Rehearsal Room. Contact the church office for more information if you are interested in sharing your musical gifts.

Adult Connections

Pastor’s Class

Our adult siblings in Christ will gather in the Fellowship Hall and then may travel upstairs to the Upper Room on the 2nd floor (use steps or elevator by the glass doors.) A variety of short term series will be offered by different pastors from St. Matthew and the community.

Beginning October 10th, Pastor Kathy will be leading a five week series on Lutheran concepts and how they connect with our present day experiences. (Anyone new to Lutheranism is especially encouraged to attend.)

Parlor Class

Our adult siblings in Christ will gather in the Fellowship Hall and then may travel to the Parlor (right off the Gathering Place.) Participants in this class join the legacy of St. Matthew Christian Education at its best. The time is focused on hymns and the Augsburg Series of Lessons.

Generations Class

Our adult siblings in Christ will gather in the Fellowship Hall and then may travel to the Lounge of the Administration/Education Building This class uses a digital resource called Wired Word. The leader uses this for discussion on current everyday events and how they connect with scripture and our daily walk in Christian Life.

In-Depth Bible Class

Will begin meeting in Room 301 at a later date.
