Hanover Community Singers

CommunitySingersAs a community extension of our Music Ministry, Scott Fredericks directed the 180-voice Hanover Community Singers, which exclusively performed at the church. This choir, founded in 1987, brougt thousands of music lovers to St. Matthew for their three annual Christmas Concerts and the three Spring Concerts. The choir was often accompanied by a 42-piece orchestra and frequently featured guest pianists and composers. Admission to these programs was free, with tickets required simply to provide crowd control for these immensely popular concerts. Audiences for these programs were encouraged to bring canned goods to assist the local Red Cross. Through the years, over 50,000 cans of food were collected to assist members of the community in need.

CD’s of many of these concerts are still available.
