CROP Walk 2015

Mark your calendars now–the annual Hanover CROP Hunger Walk will be on Sunday, October 18, beginning at 1 pm from South Western High School.

Walking to end hunger, the CROP Walk is the oldest hunger-fighting fundraising event in the US.  It involves more than 1,600 communities each year – a mix of faiths, community groups, and individuals.  There are 1,300 walks a year with 116,000 participants raising $12,000,000.  Approximately 25% of the money raised fights hunger in these communities, with the remainder supporting the life-saving work of CWS – helping people around the world have enough food to eat and clean water to drink – and allowing children to have the best possible start at life.

  • Nearly 1 billion people now live  in poverty worldwide.
  • In the US, nearly 43 million people don’t have enough to eat.
  • Around 18,000 children die every day from hunger-related causes.

Envelopes and information for walkers and sponsors  will be in the  Gathering Place beginning September 27.  Prayerfully consider walking or sponsoring our St. Matthew team. For more information, please contact our recruiter, Jan Davis, at  637-7101 or
