Cover to Cover

COVER TO COVER is a reading group that meets about every three months to talk about a particular book.  “Behold the Dreamers” by Imbolo Mbue is our featured book.  We will gather in the church library on Monday, June 4, 7:00 p.m. for our discussion.  “Behold the Dreamers” is  “a compulsively readable debut novel about marriage, immigration, class, race, and the trapdoors in the American Dream—the unforgettable story of a young Cameroonian couple making a new life in New York just as the Great Recession upends the economy.”  (from Penguin Random House)  A copy of the book is available in the library.

Next will be “Braving the Wilderness” by Brene Brown. This will be a thought-provoking book to read over the summer. We will meet on Monday, October 1 for our discussion. A copy is in the church libraby.  From Amazon–Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization. With her trademark mix of research, storytelling, and honesty, Brown will again change the cultural conversation while mapping a clear path to true belonging.
