The Rev. Matthew B.
Pensinger, M. Div.Pr. Matthew Pensinger, is our new Associate Pastor at St. Matthew. Pr. Pensinger is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Secondary Education Social Studies. He received his Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. He did his internship at Big Spring Lutheran Ministry Cooperative, Newville, PA. He was ordained September 29, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in York, PA; his sponsor at ordination was the Rev. David A. Sonnenberg, Jr. He is married to Deborah (Cline) Pensinger. The Rev. Dr. E. Edward Keyser
Congregational Visitation Pastor
Pastor Keyser recently retired after serving as co-pastor at St. James Church in Gettysburg for 35 years. He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College (1960) and of the Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia (1963). He was pastor of the Berwick Lutheran Parish, Berwick, PA, 1963-1967. He was co-pastor of St. James Church, Gettysburg, 1967-2002. He is married and the father of four children and nine grandchildren. His service has included work with Stephen Ministry and the York-Adams Drug and Alcohol Board as well as in other community activities. He is a resident of Gettysburg.
The Rev. Jack R. Hoffman
Congregational Visitation Pastor
Pastor Hoffman lives in Hanover. From 1972 to 1985 he was pastor of St. Paul's Church on York Street. He is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College (1958) and earned his degree in theology at the Gettysburg (1961) He began his ministry at Etters, PA (Mt. Zion Church), 1962-1963. He served as assistant pastor at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Lancaster, 1964-1971, as pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover, 1972-1985, as pastor of Holy Trinity Lancaster, 1976-1996, and as assistant to the Bishop for Evangelism and Outreach, Lower Susquehanna Synod, 1996-2001, when he retired. He is married and has two children and four grandchildren. Currently he is involved in teaching in the town and ministry program at the Gettysburg Seminary.
